The role is initially based from the BTNO office (Assington) until we mobilise offices on site at Bramford (Ipswich) in late 2026 / early 2027 and requires a minimum of 3 days in the office.

Responsible for establishing governance and assuring data and information flow to and from Balfour Beatty (BIM 360 Docs), client common data environments, and subcontractor systems. To manage the Common Data Environment for several projects/one project ensuring BIM
360, SharePoint, Client EDMS). To encourage collaborative working, information exchange and aid the project team throughout. A key role in providing project related training, support and guidance on using BIM
360 to the project engineering team, including subcontractors, the client and designers. Responsible for liaising with DE Manager on BIM
360 project level Quality Audit implementation, operation, and record, keeping for their project on BIM 360 reports and Power BI Dashboards.

Assisting the Information Manager in providing initial training and ongoing support, assisting on evaluation, selection, and training of BIM
360 Champions, also promoting ongoing deployment of BIM
360 on all projects and assist on setting up of projects in liaison with the Information Manager.

What you'll be doing
  • Work to the Project Information Plan and Asset Information Plan set out at project start up (IM will be identified at this stage)
  • Assist with the set-up of projects in BIM 360 Next Gen (folders, users rights, workflows)
  • Assist the Information Manager with the roll out of BIM 360 to newly identified projects and complete support training and visits
  • Assist Document Control manager with implementation and ongoing use of BIM
    360 on the project(s)
  • Assist Project Team Members in assembling information for Project Outputs and reporting
  • Enable reliable information exchange through a common data environment
  • Enable integration and co‑ordination of information within the Information Model
  • Assure delivery of information exchanges
Who we’re looking for

The following qualities/experience are essential:

  • Background and understanding of a variety of engineering projects and processes.
  • Understands and has experience working with Document Control/Management
  • Demonstrable stakeholder engagement, influencing and relationships skills.

The following qualities/experience are desirable:

  • Experience using BIM 360 Docs.
  • Experience and understanding of site based Operational business processes and practices.
  • Knowledge of Engineering applications and their associated data structures.
  • An awareness of the Utilities / Power / Construction industry.
  • A working knowledge of an Engineering Drawing Office, Design Office and document control processes.
  • A working knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modelling) tools, processes, and practices.
  • Awareness and knowledge of BS1192 / ISO
    19650
  • Ability to work as part of a project team as well as a wider Document Control team, looking for opportunities to improve procedures across the UK through thoughtful and actionable suggestions.
