We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Engineer (Steel Structures) to remotely join our small, agile team based out of Minden, NV. This is a full-time position reporting to the Director of Product & Engineering and will spearhead the independent steel floor structures portion of our catalog. Job Duties- Assist in “building the cloud” by designing and creating critical pieces of infrastructure for data centers.
- Be the lifeline for our factories; work to implement your vision of how products are built.
- Interface with customers to understand needs and structural engineering to solidify designs.
- Create 3D models, revisions/engineering change notices to update parts, shop drawings, bill of materials, and installation/assembly manuals.
- Assist in creating supporting documentation/drawings for already designed products to fulfill factory or customer needs.
- Visit factories to confirm processes & quality control or to witness first article inspection/testing.
- Assist in sourcing components due to custom design, design changes, or supply constraints.
- Review and confirm bill of materials for support engineers/sales.
- Collaborate with engineering department on recommended design changes/new designs.
- Follow-up with quality issues until end resolution. Suggest action items based upon findings.
- Must be detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to run multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficient in creating standard engineering drawings with proper GD&T.
- Must be able to create quality initiatives to vet vendors and confirm consistent product.
- Adapt to changing conditions and work assignments.
- Work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to multi-task and take direction, solve problems, and make decisions, and align to company objectives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Mechanical Engineering (preferred), or equivalent experience.
- Minimum three years in engineering/manufacturing experience.
- Experience with 3D modeling is a must (Inventor).
- Proficient in PC Windows and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with inventory management software a plus (Epicor, Net Suite, Fish Bowl, etc.)
- Experience with steel, welding, structural design, and quality control is a must.
- Experience with aluminum and other metals, polycarbonate and other plastics, a plus.
- Able to travel up to 25% to factories, vendors, and installation sites.
- This is a remote position so must be a self‑starter.
