Responsibilities- The Principal Engineer supports District emergency management operations for flood control and will serve on the water manager team as a high-level technical expert working with cutting-edge technologies.
- A strong background in stormwater, flood control, modeling, and project management is preferred; this is a highly specialized position with exciting learning opportunities in the field.
- You may also serve as a technical advisor and resource for executive level presentations and may serve as a spokesperson for the District at internal and external meetings.
- A partial remote work-from-home schedule is offered, and you may choose to work based out of the Naples or Ft. Myers office.
Salary range is $120,000 - $135,000 commensurate with experience

Employment Guidelines:
Bachelor's Degree from an ABET/EAC accredited program and 11+ years experience that demonstrates measurable career progression within engineering discipline that can be applied to support the District's strategic goals and objectives. Disciplines for engineering education and experience requirements include Civil, Construction, Electrical, Environmental, and Mechanical Engineering.
Licenses /
Certifications:
Valid State of Florida Driver's License is required.
Incumbent has State of Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license and keeps licensure status current.
Physical Requirements / Working EnvironmentDue to the District's response role and in the total scope of emergency management, this position may at times, be required to provide support before, during and after major storm events and emergency situations, such as hurricanes or other declared emergencies, depending on assigned emergency response role.
