What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
  • Conduct research on air breathing propulsion technologies for high-speed long-range flight
  • Design and analyze high-speed propulsion systems and optimize thermal management
  • Support the supervision of graduate Defence engineers and assist with teaching as needed
  • Provide administrative and laboratory support within the DSTG research group
  • Report findings and present updates to stakeholders while supporting test rig commissioning
What is Required (Qualifications)
  • Completed or near completion of a PhD in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering with a focus on experimental hypersonics
  • Australian citizenship is a requirement for this position
  • Ability to hold at minimum an Australian NV1 security clearance
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and constructively within a group
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Practical experience with hypersonic test facilities and high-speed air breathing propulsion
  • Existing security clearance (NV1 or higher)
  • Experience supervising students or Defence engineers and cadets
