A Snapshot of Your Day
We are seeking a quality engineer to support Gas Services quality team in region Canada. The scope of the job incorporates quality leadership during outage lifecycle. Quality planning, supplier quality, work package/ inspection and test plan reviews, non-conformances and corrective action management. Work closely with District Service office and platform teams like District and Field Personnel, back-office teams, Procurement, Sales, finance & supplier.
Strong interface with Nuclear and Fossil utilities during witness of work scopes both at 3rd party and in the field. Develop strong partnerships with stakeholders to promote quality at all levels of the business. This role provides autonomy and growth opportunities to foster a variety of work experiences
How You’ll Make an Impact
Establish and ensure processes to a) analyze and monitor fulfillment of contractual and committed requirements b) management of professional feedback to and from the customer, c) manage complaintsPerforms proactive and meaningful analyses of data and project risk situations to guide decisions. Tracks and drives discussions to ensure project risk assessments and mitigations are effectively implemented.Develop, maintain & ensure execution of Field Quality Program – Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans, Surveillance plans through active involvement in project reviews and participation in quality gate meetings.Arrange, perform, and implement quality related customer requirements such as, Customer/Supplier witness points, Quality Document preparation and quality focused customer presentations. Support Project Managers and other stake holders with understanding and guiding customer expectations on quality focus and activities.Provide training to field personnel on quality plans and stakeholder. Act as main point of contact for QA for on- and off-site work during outages and parts/service projects. Lead and foster strong QA mindset within the team while completing on site work.Assesses nonconformance cost (NCC) events and provides analysis for organizational improvement guidance. Facilitates resolution of nonconformance and corrective action events by leading root cause investigations, monitoring supplier corrective actions, and fostering a proactive organizational mindset to prevent recurrenceSupport the audits and assessments program to ISO and CSA N299 Management Systems standards.Facilitate and track focused quality objectives relating to key contract deliverables and utilize these to drive continuous improvement. Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends and areas for improvementTraveling up to 70% could include support during outages at customer sites from anywhere between 2-12 weeks duration.What You Bring
Bachelor’s Degree (, preferably in an Engineering discipline Quality or related field.5+ years of combined experience in one or more of the following – manufacturing, field service, project quality, Quality Assurance.Proficient communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to develop thoughtful communication plans, employing multiple channels, or indirect approaches, such as influencing others, to align groups or organizations.Strong analytical, facilitation and presentation skills with emphasis on proven use of quality plans, RCA tools, auditing, lean projects, facilitations. Drive collaboration to produce effective results.Professional knowledge and experience related to International Standards ISO 9001 & CSA N299High level of proficiency with systems and data analytics.
