About The Role
Join our Power Commercial team as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, and you’ll help deliver complex work that really matters to our business, contributing to some of the largest and most significant infrastructure projects in the industry.

We are looking for a self‑motivated Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial Team supporting one of the largest infrastructure projects in Scotland, based in Dundee.
You’ll be part of a collaborative, high‑performing commercial team responsible for the full commercial and financial management of major, complex projects—from inception, tendering, negotiating and agreeing contracts (including NEC), through to effective commercial delivery. These projects typically carry values in the many tens of millions.
What you'll be doing- Manage costs in relation to infrastructure projects with experience of identifying commercial risks and opportunities in respect of their works.
- Deliver varied commercial duties including responsibility for procuring and managing supply chain.
- Optimise commercial performance through diligent cost control and value for money opportunities, whilst achieving the required standards and quality for our customers.
- Create and maintain commercial relationships to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Contract administration with both client and subcontractors.
- Provide support and adherence for the Gated Business Lifecycle processes.
- Mentor and develop junior members of the team.
- Proactively drive career and personal development, including professional certification.
- Commercial management of a large infrastructure project or a portfolio of smaller projects.
- You will have the following qualities/experience:
- BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or experience equivalent.
- Membership of RICS, ICES or CIOB (or working towards).
- Experience with key contracts such as NEC.
- Good communication skills.

This is a hybrid role based in either Iverness or Westhill (Aberdeenshire), with regular travel to current key site locations in Aberdeenshire and Stirlingshire and the flexibility to work from home, supported by Balfour Beatty’s smart working policy.
