In this role you will have the opportunity to:
- Function as a Lead or Senior Engineer
- Conduct studies in Energy Optimization, Power System Coordination and Arc Flash Hazard Analysis, Electrical Reliability Analysis
- Perform construction inspection and resolve electrical construction issues
- Coordinate with local electrical utilities on project technical needs
- Review supplier submittals
- Act as liaison between local design team, client and remote design teams for I&C design
- Start up and test major electrical equipment
- Lead electrical design for water/wastewater projects
- Provide technical guidance on client standards and expectations to engineering and technician staff in regional design centers
- Serve as technical expert in electrical power distribution and miscellaneous plant electrical systems for client consultations
- Support business development related to enhanced Electrical services
- Build business relationships with clients to understand needs and drivers
Please note:
This role will be hybrid – 2 days per week remote, 3 days per week in‑office.
The team supports the Governments & Environment market sector and works on projects for government agencies and regulated utilities.
Key Responsibilities- Engineering Standards

Remain current, apply design guides, standards, codes, Black & Veatch policies, and procedures. - Quality / Continuous Improvement
:
Apply knowledge consistently, ensure compliance with Black & Veatch quality program, provide guidance and direction, support improvement and change management. - Engineering Production
:
Prepare complex deliverables, research and recommend equipment/materials, perform calculations, manage budget, schedule and quality. - Planning & Evaluation
:
Evaluate, select and adapt engineering techniques, review lower‑level work, oversee data management, lead small teams and act as project lead. - Project Coordination
:
Coordinate with internal and external team members on moderately complex projects. - Client Focus
:
Identify key client interests, communicate them, develop approaches, provide support to business development or pursuit activities. - Conduct knowledge sharing, innovation and technology leadership.
- People management: mentoring, performance management, training and recognition.
- Professional Engineer license.
- 5+ years in electrical design, planning and construction services.
- Consulting and Water/Wastewater experience preferred.
- Experience in medium and low voltage power distribution equipment, including variable frequency drives and standby diesel generators.
- Understanding of PLC hardware and software setup, network configuration, HMI, SCADA system, instrumentation, fiber optic cabling.
- Experience in a client‑facing/business development role.
- Power system analysis experience with SKM, ETAP, or other analysis software.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program.
- Minimum 5 years of related work experience.
Professional registration or licensure in designated home office country, or active pursuit of such registration.
