Join Paebbl, a founder-led start-up in the burgeoning field of climate technology and the emerging “carbon economy”. Our mission is to permanently sequester CO2 and repurpose it into essential products. Inspired by natural CO2 mineralization, our technology accelerates this process by a factor of a million and is now ready for scale-up. We are backed by supportive, long-term oriented institutional and private investors, and our team features a diverse group of experts from technology, industrial engineering, digital innovation, waste management, finance, and academia.
Position Overview:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Process Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading process design, optimization, and troubleshooting efforts across our operations. This role requires a deep understanding of chemical engineering principles, a strong background in process simulation, and a proven ability to manage complex projects. The Senior Process Engineer will play a key role in driving operational efficiency, ensuring process safety, and delivering innovative solutions that support the company's strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design, development, and optimization of chemical and manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and sustainability. Utilize advanced process simulation tools (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II, ChemCAD) to model and analyse processes, identifying opportunities for improvement. Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) for new and existing processes.
Manage and coordinate engineering projects from concept through commissioning, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, operations, and maintenance, to ensure successful project execution.
Conduct process hazard analyses (PHA), HAZOP studies, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards. Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and ISO standards. Develop and implement process safety management (PSM) systems and procedures.
Diagnose and resolve complex process-related issues, minimizing downtime and enhancing operational reliability. Perform root cause analysis (RCA) on process failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process efficiency, reduce waste, and lower production costs. Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
Prepare detailed technical reports, documentation, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of process changes, modifications, and improvements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field. A Master’s degree or higher is preferred.
At least 12+ years in Process engineering field, related to Project and Design with at least 5+ within an operational or manufacturing environment. Proven track record of successfully leading process design and optimization projects.
Proficient in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II, ChemCAD). Strong knowledge of process safety management, HAZOP, and risk assessment methodologies. Familiarity with equipment design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Solid Works) and data analysis software (e.g., MATLAB, Minitab).
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred. Six Sigma Black Belt or other relevant certifications are a plus.
