In this individual contributor role, you will be a subject matter expert within Risk Control Services, supporting the Property Risk Engineering Discipline. You will develop tools, resources, and digital content for internal and client-facing use, covering Fire Protection, Emerging Risks, Climate Disruption, Sustainable Energy, and other trending topics.
This position offers a remote work arrangement, with the expectation to come into an office as needed.
Requirements:
Support the strategic direction of the Risk Control Service Department, Property Specialist Team, and Property Technical Manager by integrating key metrics into risk engineering guidelines and procedures.Oversee and prepare data analytics for Property Engineering reports.Conduct Fire Protection Plan Reviews for new or retrofit fire protection systems to ensure compliance with standards and company requirements.Manage the Fire Protection System Impairment program desk.Enhance expertise in Natural Catastrophe, Emerging Technologies, and Business Continuity.Utilize data analytics in property reports, such as heat maps, to assist underwriting in risk differentiation.Create and implement a web-based dashboard for data mining property engineering reports and risk mitigation recommendations.Develop digital content and integrate a Risk Scoring Matrix.Develop and publish regular reports on property claims using the Claims database to support Property Specialists and Account Engineers.Provide underwriting support aligned with Managed Industries such as Manufacturing, Technology, Life Science, Real Estate, and Healthcare.Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (preferably Fire Protection, Chemical, Mechanical) or Fire Science or related fields.Minimum of 10 years of relevant property risk experience.Experience with HPR (Highly Protected Risk) Property required.Strong time management and development skills.Proficiency in MS Office 360 Apps, including Power Automate, Pages, BI, and Co-Pilot.Knowledge of Excel, VBA, Tableau is a plus.Effective communication, attention to detail, and leadership skills.Compensation:
The listed annual base pay range is based on market analysis and may vary depending on performance and competencies. It is part of The Hartford’s total compensation, which may include bonuses, incentives, and recognition. The range is:
$130,400 - $195,600
