What Your Job Will Be Like:We are seeking an R&D Electrical Engineer to help lead our dynamic electrical subsystem in Mobile Guardian Transport Electronics Engineering, Testers, and Cables.
- Use electrical engineering principles to implement a variety of electrical engineering approaches (analog, digital, hardware/software integration, etc.) to research, design, or develop structures, instruments, experiments, processes, systems, tests, or technologies; to construct or operate the same with full cognizance of their design or to forecast their behavior.
- Provide expert guidance to electrical engineers regarding analog and digital board design, hardware/software integration, design safety basis, etc. in pursuit of their component completion and integration efforts.
- Utilize project management principals to ensure delivery of critical components by a large multidisciplinary team on time, within budget, and within requirements and/or to identify challenges in advance to allow for mitigation and course correction.
- Initiate, design, develop, execute, and evaluate new processes, products, or systems through basic and applied engineering.
- Utilize creativity and critical thinking in systems engineering principles to proactively discern, identify, troubleshoot and mitigate requirements, design, and manufacturing risks to ensure successful product realization in partnership with a variety of subsystem teams and sponsor needs.
- Determine evaluation criteria, critical system tests, and conditions under which tests are to be conducted then oversee preparation of test, maintenance, operations, calibration and administrative procedures to support operations at hazardous facilities.
- Design, develop, execute and/or direct design creation, execution, and fabrication of critical system components and interfaces to meet all performance criteria.
- Direct and support major system design reviews which may include detailed component reviews, data acquisition and analysis, reliability studies, failure mode analyses, and safety cases for electrical system components and multidisciplinary peripherals.
- Support the analysis and interpretation of test data, design data, and failure modes.
- Recommend alternative solutions to problems and obstacles.
- Develop technical documentation for systems such as drawings, work instructions, reports, test plans, manuals, etc.
- Work on a specific task basis to support technical activities.
Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite .
Salary Range:$114,000 - $227,500
* Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require:- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and five (5) years of directly relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of directly relevant education and engineering or scientific experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform independent research and development.
