This is an exciting opportunity for you if you thrive in consulting, are an expert in assessment and reclamation, excel at leading projects, and are passionate about team leadership and mentorship. In this position you will be responsible for developing and executing assessment and remediation project phases from planning, permitting, and desktop assessment through field implementation and final regulatory closure for a variety of industries.
YourImpact
- Developing and managing phased environmental site assessment, remediation, and reclamation programs, including Phase 1 ESA/Stage 1 Preliminary Site Investigation (PSI), Phase 2 ESA/Stage 2 PSI and Detailed Site Investigations (DSI)
- Groundwater monitoring design, well installation, and sampling
- Spill contingency planning and response
- Providing technical and regulatory expertise regarding contaminated sites work
- Contributing high-quality reports, cost estimates, and proposals
- Liaising and negotiating with other partners, clients, regulators, contractors, and sub-contractors
- Leading technical teams to ensure the quality, cost, and timeliness of deliverables
- Providing mentorship and training for our environmental professional team
- Ensuring clients’ and Triton’s safety standards are maintained or exceeded
- Working collaboratively within Triton’s corporate culture
- Undergraduate degree (B.Sc.) in soil science, environmental science, earth sciences, or related field. A graduate degree (M.Sc.) in a related discipline is an asset.
- Registered P.Ag with an Institute of Agrology (BC or Alberta), or another relevant professional organization.
- A minimum of five years of relevant experience in the environmental industry
- Knowledge and experience with soil classification and mapping using the Canadian System of Soil Classification
- Experience with Phase 1 and 2 Environmental Site Assessments (Stage 1 and 2 Preliminary Site Assessments), soil sampling programs, groundwater monitoring programs, remediation, reclamation Detailed Site Assessments, and/or Reclamation Certificate Applications, Spill contingency planning and response
- Experience with regulatory guidelines in all other jurisdictions (e.g., Federal, Manitoba, NWT) is an asset
- Excellent verbal communications skills
- Detail-oriented with solid organizational and time management skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative working style
- Valid driver's license from a Canadian province or Territory acceptable for driving alone and with passengers in a work setting.

Wages are commensurate with experience and qualifications, with the approximate wage range being $57 to $76 per hour.
Location, Work Schedule & FlexibilityWith offices across British Columbia and Alberta this position can be in any of our office locations. Triton promotes and encourages a collaborative team culture; with a hybrid work schedule (i.e., three days per week in the office) supported.
