Job Description:

Global Patent Solutions, LLC (GPS) is a leading patent research and intellectual property consulting firm serving technology companies, law firms, and the USPTO. We are expanding our team to support a contract with the USPTO on PCT search and examination.

• Perform comprehensive search and written opinion on PCT patent applications.
• Quickly understand inventive concepts from PCT specification, drawings, and claims.
• Conduct robust searches of patent and non‑patent literature databases.
• Write an opinion/analysis mapping relevant prior art to the PCT claims.
• Complete applicable final PCT Forms and Search History Document.
• Ensure work meets GPS quality standards and correct any deficiencies.
• Collaborate with GPS Management on capacity and turnaround times to meet internal deadlines.
• Continuously improve knowledge of PCT processing practices.

• Form 237 Written Opinion of the PCT application.
• Form 210 Documentation of Prior Art References Used.
• Completed Search History Document.
• This is a remote position.

• Educational background in one of:
  Biomedical Engineering, Medical Devices/Life Sciences, Mechanical Engineering, Biotechnology, Electrical Communications, Computer Science, Physics, Chemical Engineering.

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in a scientific/engineering field.
• U.S. citizen or reside in the U.S. for the most recent two years and legally eligible to work.
• Physically located in the U.S. while performing work.
• 1+ years of PCT Written Opinion experience.
• Proficiency in prior art search, analysis, and documentation.
• Strong grasp of inventive concepts and application of prior art.
• Excellent time management and communication skills.
• Knowledge of WIPO PCT Articles and Rules.
• Ability to classify patents using CPC and IPC.
