  • Create and manage detailed project schedules and milestone plans
  • Track project costs, manage change orders, and control capital spend
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and within approved budgets
Stakeholder Communication
  • Serve as primary engineering liaison for operations, finance, IT, vendors, and executive leadership
  • Provide clear project updates, risk assessments, and status reporting
  • Align engineering solutions with operational needs and long-term network strategy
Risk Management

  • Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans
  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and company standards
Key Focus Areas – Distribution & Fulfillment

  • Warehouse automation systems (conveyance, sortation, AS/RS, robotics, pick modules)
  • Material flow, slotting, labor optimization, and process improvement initiatives
  • Facility infrastructure (racking, dock equipment, MHE, power, network readiness)
  • Support for multi-site rollouts, expansions, relocations, and integrations

Note:

In some organizations, this role may also support utility or infrastructure projects related to power distribution, substations, or grid reliability.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field)
  • 5+ years of progressive engineering experience, with significant project leadership responsibility
  • Proven experience managing complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, fulfillment processes, or supply chain systems
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, schedules, and vendor performance
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, with the ability to independently create, modify, and review detailed warehouse layouts, equipment drawings, material flow diagrams, and facility plans to support project design, analysis, and implementation.
  • Exceptional Excel capability, used as a primary tool for analyzing operational data, evaluating trade-offs, supporting capital and process decisions, and quantifying the impact of engineering initiatives on cost, capacity, labor, and service.
Preferred
  • Experience in 3PL, e-commerce fulfillment, or high-volume distribution environments
