Field service engineer Portland​/Seattle

Role overview

As a Field Service Engineer you’re responsible for installing, servicing and maintaining the equipment at our customer facilities according to the specifications.

• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical, software and sorter programming issues both on site and remotely (via phone or remote access).
• After installation you provide technical training to your client on how to set up the machine, use it and fix first line failures. You also give advice on how to maintain the machine.
• Share field experiences regarding bottlenecks and how to fix them with your service and engineering colleagues.
• Our customers are located worldwide. Travel is 140-180 days per year, regional as well as international (valid passport is required).
• You report to the service manager.

• Located in the Portland/Seattle region (either at a customer site or home-based).
• Bachelor’s degree (mechanical or electrical) or comparable by experience.
• 3–5 years of experience as a (service) technician; experience with machinery is an asset.
• Broad technical knowledge base: electrical troubleshooting (3-phase, 1-phase power, low voltage DC) and mechanical work experience; ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings. Forklift certificate is a plus.
• Knowledge of Office 365. Knowledge of Linux, PLC, Siemens S7 and computer networks is an added value.
• Fluent in English (written and verbal); knowledge of at least one other global language (e.g., Spanish) is preferred.
• Problem solver with a hands-on and client-centered mindset. Able to work under pressure in stressful situations.
• Communicative, flexible and adaptable to working hours and availability for customers.
