We are currently seeking a Construction Manager in US to join our dynamic and fast-paced environment in the Aftermarket business.

In this role you will be responsible for providing on-site supervision of the workforce to insure that the project is completed on time and within budget meeting both revenue and margin expectations.

What Will You Do?
  • Manage and direct assigned HCS projects to complete them on time and on budget, including revenue and margin requirements, while meeting customer expectations.
  • Ensure safe work practices are followed. Ensure that contractually required EH&S training is provided to construction workers and other project personnel, report safety incidents and near misses on a timely basis maintaining the goal of “zero” lost time incidents. Maintain project safety records.
  • Responsible for assessing the performance (in terms of safety, quality and quantity) of hired subcontractors and in taking appropriate actions to address any issues.
  • Communicates regularly with vendors, contractors and customers on project cost, staffing, scheduling and specification modification in order to complete the work within contract requirements.
  • Responsible for managing the project schedule, communicating any deviations to the customer and other Howden North America Inc departments, as required.
  • Prepare project status reports, ensure that plans and work are completed, adhere to contract specifications and meet customer expectations or quality Howden North America work.
  • Manage and direct all assigned field repairs, retrofits, upgrades, inspections and installation projects in accordance with Howden documented Engineering and Quality procedures.
  • Continually gather critical site information about Howden installed base, collecting it for the CRM system and using it to prospect for additional opportunities.
  • Support the sales organization and sales reps in promoting the organization’s products and services and in identifying and securing new opportunities.

Your Experience Should Be...
  • 10 years of direct involvement in construction management, project management or field service.
  • Proven field leadership qualities demonstrated under the stress of long hours and difficult projects.
  • Experience running and attending construction meetings.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • High moral and ethical standards; integrity is continuously apparent.
  • Strong interpersonal skills – active listener, clear and concise communicator (both oral and written); proven collaboration skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. Comfortable navigating the internet.
  • Proficiency in scheduling and construction administration software such as:
    Microsoft Project, Prolog, Primavera and/or Expedition.
  • Competency in scheduling and construction administration.
  • Competent understanding of Howden’s product and service offerings and customer base.
  • Ability to create and maintain strong relationships with customers, employees and Sales Reps.
  • Strong analytical skills, decisive personality in implementation of solutions.
Desirable skills, knowledge & behaviours
  • Comfortable and effective working in the “virtual world”
  • Experience with servicing highly engineered equipment and products, preferably through a sales rep. network.
  • Personal mechanical skill levels at an expert Technical Service Advisor level.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, business, mechanical or civil engineering, or related field or equivalent related position experience.
