Job DescriptionThis is a remote position.
This role is based in a South America region on a full-time, onsite basis with a full relocation package provided, including a pension scheme and excellent annual leave benefits. Our client will also consider professionals with a strong oil and gas H&S auditor background for the position if they are only available to work on a hybrid basis, with regular visits to the South American country.
We are recruiting for Health and Safety Inspectors to perform critical front-line regulatory duties. You will be responsible for visiting offshore installations to verify that safety systems are functioning as intended.
Responsibilities- Conduct regular onsite inspections of offshore drilling rigs and production platforms.
- Audit safety management systems and interview personnel to ensure a strong safety culture.
- Identify areas of non-compliance and issue enforcement notices where necessary.
- Assist in the review of technical documentation and operational procedures.
- Provide real-time reporting on the safety status of offshore assets to the H&S Manager.
- The candidate must possess at least five years of experience in the safety regulation of a high-hazard industrial sector. This experience should include the formal review and assessment of complex safety management systems and technical regulatory submissions.
- Practical experience in offshore operations (e.g., drilling, production, or subsea engineering).
- Recognised health and safety qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent).
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to remain impartial in a regulatory capacity.
- Physical fitness for offshore travel and survival training (BOSIET/FOET).
- Excellent communication skills for dealing with offshore crews and management.
