Overview
As an Environmental Project Manager, you will assess and monitor flood hazard areas to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and mitigation requirements. You will review and approve soil erosion and sediment control plans, issue necessary certificates, conduct site inspections, and prepare documentation related to environmental compliance. You will collaborate with contractors, engineers, and regulatory agencies to resolve compliance issues and provide guidance on best practices.
You will stay current on relevant environmental laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Assess and monitor flood hazard areas for regulatory compliance.
- Review and approve soil erosion and sediment control plans.
- Issue certificates as required by governing authorities.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with approved plans and standards.
- Prepare and maintain documentation and reports related to environmental compliance.
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and regulatory agencies.
- Stay updated on environmental laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Project management expertise.
- Knowledge in environmental science.
- Experience in bridge engineering.
- 7-10 years of environmental experience (Phase 1 s, Phase 2 s, report writing, and permitting for bridge projects).
- NJDEP land use permit experience, including freshwater wetlands.
- Understanding of flood hazard areas.
- Ability to obtain soil erosion and sediment control certificates.
- Skills in environmental engineering and compliance.
- Permitting knowledge.
- HAZWOPER certification.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor s Degree in Environmental Science.
Work is typically conducted in an office setting from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with hybrid flexibility, allowing 1-2 days of remote work per week. The company has been established for 20 years and offers competitive benefits, a salary raise of 4-5 percent per year, and a yearly bonus structure.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Jersey City, NJ.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $120,000 - $130,000 per year. Medical, vision, dental, 401k.
