OverviewOur client is a specialist geo-environmental and engineering consultancy working across Scotland, supporting developers, house builders, and landowners with high quality ground investigation, contaminated land assessment, flood risk analysis, and environmental problem solving.
They are looking for a Graduate Geo-Environmental Engineer to support a wide range of environmental, geological, and hydrological projects across Scotland, in a role ideal for an individual looking to develop into a well-rounded engineer – not a narrow specialist.

Responsibilities Contaminated Land & Ground Investigation- Produce Stage 1 Conceptual Site Models
- Assist with contaminated land risk assessments
- Supervise site investigations
- Support intrusive ground investigations (typically 2–3 months duration)
- Contribute to Level 2 Flood Risk Assessments
- Assist with outline flood risk assessments
- Gain exposure to SuDS design and assessment
- Learn to use modelling tools such as HEC‑RAS (later stage)
- Write sections of technical reports
- Analyse environmental and geological data
- Use QGIS and other mapping tools
- Work with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Work across 4–5 projects simultaneously
- Collaborate with multiple project managers
- Travel across Scotland with occasional overnight stays (1–2 per month)
- Drive company van to site (manual licence preferred)
- Degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a closely related discipline
- 0-2 years’ relevant industry background
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Confident communicator who enjoys working with others
- Full clean driving licence
- Comfortable with fieldwork and travel
- Curious, proactive, and eager to learn
- Track record of using QGIS
- Python or coding track record
- Civil Engineering background with geological exposure
- Salary £26,000 – £30,000
- 26.5 days annual leave
- Office closes only over Christmas/New Year
