Position Summary:This role provides technical engineering support within GSE Solutions’
Programs & Performance division, to commercial nuclear power station programs, working closely with clients, project teams, and subcontractors to deliver high-quality, compliant engineering solutions. The Associate Engineer applies regulatory standards, industry best practices, and plant system knowledge to support a variety of projects across multiple clients and technologies. This position also encourages professional growth through continuous learning and relationship-building to support long‑term business development and client success.
Range:
$75,000 to $90,000, DOE.
Location:Remote — Preference for candidates located near Chicago, IL or the surrounding Midwest region

- Work directly with clients and subcontractors in support of assigned engineering projects.
- Read, interpret, and apply regulatory codes and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory, industry, client, and company requirements.
- Use knowledge of plant systems, procedures, and regulations to inform engineering decisions and application of standards.
- Learn and support multiple plant systems and designs across different clients and projects.
- Mark up P&IDs, procedures, program plans, and supporting technical documentation.
- Monitor updates to governing regulatory and industry documents and apply approved changes to active and future projects.
- Support relationship‑building efforts with clients and contribute to business development initiatives as needed.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a remote environment.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard business software.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem‑solving abilities.

- Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related STEM field
- 0–2 years of experience in regulatory program applications or
- 0–2 years of experience with Electrical Power Research Institute (EPRI) standards, Flow Accelerated Corrosion, Underground Piping, or related regulatory and industry requirements
