Overview
The Substation Drafter will work closely with technical teams of detailers, designers, and engineers to deliver high-quality detail on a variety of projects. The role involves developing computer-aided drafting design solutions, preparing and revising drawings of basic components from specific sketches or layouts, and adhering to company and client drafting standards. This is an exciting opportunity for growth, with the potential to transition into a designer role over time.
Responsibilities- Assist in developing computer-aided drafting design solutions.
- Prepare and revise existing engineering drawings of basic components from specific sketches or layouts.
- Prepare and revise plot drawings.
- Adhere to company and client drafting standards and procedures.
- Draft design and documentation for various projects.
- Utilize standard drafting detail programs.
- Contribute to continuous drafting detail improvement efforts.
- Research and recommend solutions to project concerns.
- Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Comply with all company policies and standards.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Drafting, Microstation, and Substation drafting.
- High School diploma or GED with coursework in drafting technology.
- CAD certification.
- 1 year of experience preferred, but fresh graduates are welcome.
- No Engineering degree required.
- Passion for learning, strong work ethic, and reliability.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Basic knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Self-motivated with an eagerness to learn and develop within the field.
This position is primarily based in the Denver office, with a team consisting of members in both Denver and Virginia. The role follows a 9/80 schedule with a one-hour lunch break, and does not offer work from home options. The work environment encourages growth and development, with significant opportunities for career advancement.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Englewood, CO.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $27.00 - $28.60/hr.
