The Field Engineer I performs on‑time and accurate Preventative Maintenance in one or more modalities of equipment, follows all Field Modification Instructions and/or Instrument Service Information bulletins, and works with experienced Field Engineers, onsite and remotely, to learn troubleshooting, repair and equipment installation techniques. Responsible for driving customer satisfaction through Service Excellence.
This remote role requires work onsite at customer locations in the Pensacola/Ft Walton Beach FL area and occasional work from a home office.
Responsibilities- Perform on‑time and accurate Preventative Maintenance, FMIs and/or ISIs.
- Assist with equipment installation and basic troubleshooting.
- Communicate and partner with teammates and customers to ensure resolution and satisfaction.
- Maintain customer service logs, order repair parts and manage cycle times.
- Utilize the GEHC escalation process to resolve customer issues in a timely manner.
- Engage commercial counterparts, identify sales leads, and support renewals and revenue programs.
- Maintain knowledge of competitor information and market trends.
- Answer service calls independently within one year of employment.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Biomedical, Mechanical Engineering or related field; OR equivalent military education; OR 4+ years experience servicing electronic, mechanical or IT equipment.
- Experience with Web applications and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Availability for after hours and rotating on‑call schedules including weekends.
- Compliance with GEHC background, drug test, immunization, and customer access policies.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.; no visa sponsorship.
Physical Requirements
- Lift, carry, push, pull up to 35 lbs unassisted; frequent bending, stooping, twisting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, and prolonged standing.
- Reach at, above and below shoulder level; good hand and finger dexterity.
- Excellent vision (color, close, distance, peripheral, depth).
