Role OverviewAs a Design & Development Engineer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our high-performance book-binding system, the IBIS Smart-binder. You will collaborate with sales and support teams to adapt and integrate our products into customers' print lines. The role requires hands‑on involvement at all stages of the design and development process, from initial concepts through to testing and final implementation.
Key Responsibilities- Conceive and produce new designs to enhance the performance and capabilities of our products and systems.
- Create 3D CAD models and component detail drawings for new mechanical assemblies relating to high-speed paper processing.
- Produce Bills of Materials (BOMs), assembly information and other documentation to support manufacturing and service teams according to our procedures and standards.
- Play an active part in the manufacture and testing of new designs and release to production.
We are looking for a proactive and technically skilled individual with the following qualifications and attributes:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Passion for hands‑on work at all stages of the design and development process and a willingness to learn from team members.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English, with the ability to confidently engage with staff, customers and suppliers worldwide.
- Methodical work approach with the ability to understand and follow company procedures.
- Proficiency in 3D modelling and design using Solid Works.
- At least 5 years experience in the design of high-speed moving mechanical processing systems.
- Knowledge of servo motor drive systems.
