Field Service Engineer Job Description
This position primarily involves routine and emergency service, advanced troubleshooting, installation of machinery, and training of customers, along with some machine assembly work. The role requires a strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting aptitude and the ability to communicate effectively with both customers and co-workers. A proven history of strong mechanical experience and decision-making skills is essential. The candidate must be capable of completing service and expense reports and managing administrative tasks, while also demonstrating initiative and drive for growth within the company.
The position involves 70-80% potential travel throughout North America, the Dominican Republic, and Canada.
Perform routine and emergency service tasks on machinery.
Conduct advanced troubleshooting and installation of machinery.
Train customers on machinery operation and maintenance.
Assemble machinery as needed.
Complete service and expense reports and manage administrative tasks.
Contribute new ideas, designs, and methods.
Read and interpret electrical and pneumatic schematics or have a willingness to learn.
Utilize PLC, machine control, and ladder logic experience.
Employ advanced troubleshooting techniques, including redesign of machine components and programming changes.
3-5 years of electro-mechanical troubleshooting experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, and servo motor equipment in industries such as food & beverage, packaging, or automotive.
Experience in troubleshooting PLCs.
Customer interfacing experience.
Strong mechanical and electro-mechanical aptitude.
Ability to read and interpret electrical and pneumatic schematics.
Proficiency in using hand tools, and understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, and pneumatics systems.
Skills & Qualifications
Associate or Bachelor s degree in Engineering (nice to have).
3 years of field service work experience (nice to have).
Experience with refrigerated processes and equipment (nice to have).
Proficiency in using MS Suite:
Outlook, Excel, and Word.
The role involves extensive travel, with 70-80% of time spent traveling across North America, the Dominican Republic, and Canada. You will be provided with a company car, laptop, and phone. The company is 100% employee-owned, fostering a collaborative and innovative work culture.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Milwaukee, WI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $34.00 - $43.00/hr.
