We are recruiting for a Field Service & Installation Engineer located in the Midwest area (Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Indiana, Illinois, North and/or South Dakota). The engineer will repair, maintain, install, train customers, and support customers via phone and email.
Responsibilities- On‑site installation, validation, repair, and maintenance of Elementar products—including elemental analyzers and peripherals.
- Providing technical training to customers, technical support personnel and service engineers.
- Accurate documentation and reporting of all repairs and product failures; provide design change and improvement recommendations when applicable.
- Maintain and control the engineer's spare part inventory according to company policies.
- Provide customers and other personnel with necessary support and documentation for instrument repairs, maintenance, and installations.
- Travel as required to provide service support to customers and other company personnel.
- Ensure timely submission of all necessary reports and paperwork.
- Promote sales of Service Contracts and Warranty Extensions.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Geology or a similar scientific field (graduate degrees preferred).
- 3–4 years of experience with analytical instrumentation and applied knowledge of elemental analyzers.
- Effective communication with customers and support staff in person, via phone, or email.
- Ability to produce clear and concise maintenance documentation.
- Travel approximately 75% of the time with a valid driver’s license and passport.
- Experience working with a CRM system and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work from a home office to provide remote technical support.
- Physical ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
