WTS, a leading By-Product and Waste Management firm, is seeking an experienced Environmental Manager in the Raleigh-Durham, NC region. The Environmental Manager will supervise and coordinate on-site services related to the proper disposition and shipment of hazardous wastes, non-hazardous wastes, and materials for recycling. Responsibilities include ensuring overall site RCRA compliance, waste characterization, profiling, materials collection, and shipment preparation, while maintaining regulatory compliance.

Full-time position.

• Astute Chemistry Knowledge
• Degree in Chemistry preferred
• 3-5 years of experience in field chemistry
• Ability to recognize and assess risks associated with various chemicals used in industrial settings
• Chemical lab packing experience preferred
• Working knowledge of Hazardous Waste RCRA regulations
• Experience in waste characterization and profiling
• Experience in HW manifest preparation
• Knowledge of USDOT (PHSMA) Hazardous Materials regulations
• Experience in HM characterization, labeling, marking, placarding, segregation, and packaging regulations
• Experience in HM shipping paper regulations
• Safety-oriented mindset
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Willingness to travel as needed
• No restrictions on physical activities required for the role
• Preferred: OSHA Haz Wopper training, RCRA training, USDOT HM training

This position is located in the Raleigh-Durham region with possible relocation. It is a remote position.
