Aerospace Transparencies Program Manager – Hybrid

Join PPG as a Program Manager and lead the lifecycle management (PLM) of aerospace transparencies for fixed wing aircraft and rotorcraft applications. This hybrid role requires onsite work at our Huntsville site three days a week, with remote work the remaining days.

• Lead and manage all aspects of programs at various stages of the PLM process, driving from concept through production, sunset, and ensuring alignment with customer requirements and company goals.
• Develop detailed program plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations; monitor progress and implement corrective actions; run program gates with full authority to approve or fail gates.
• Collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, R&D, procurement, and other functions to ensure seamless program execution and construct integrated project teams (IPT) as required.
• Maintain customer communications from gate 2 through gate 7, negotiating technical changes and supporting commercial teams on early gates and contract matters.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and sustaining production activities such as product design, tooling, documentation, NRE efforts, technical and financial reviews, proposal generation, and funding approval.
• Drive continuous improvement and best practices in program management and aerospace transparency manufacturing.
• Identify program risks, develop mitigation strategies, and realign programs to maintain schedule, cost, and quality targets.
• Ensure compliance with aerospace standards (e.g., FAA, EASA, MIL‑STD) and internal quality requirements.
• Prepare and present regular program status reports, including financial performance, schedule adherence, and risk assessments to senior management.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or a related field.
• Aerospace industry experience, with preference for those experienced in transparencies or related components.
• Minimum five (5) years of program management or engineering experience in aerospace or defense industries.
• Strong knowledge of aerospace transparency materials (acrylics, polycarbonates, glass), manufacturing processes, and testing methods.
• PMP (Project Management Professional) certification strongly preferred.
