• Negotiates contracts with non-responsible parties (NRP) for the assessment and remediation of properties/sites.
• Conducts technical review of Brownfields assessment and cleanup work plans and reports.
• Directs and oversees site-specific environmental assessments and/or cleanups at Brownfields properties.
• Enters, tracks, and maintains project information in the ePermitting database and ensures accuracy of the file management system.
• Other program duties as needed.

• A bachelor's degree in geology, hydrology, hydrogeology or geological engineering or a bachelor's degree and 30 semester hours in geology/geophysics.
• Ability to review and analyze technical documents and files regarding the assessment and cleanup of sites.
• Ability to provide oversight of the assessment and cleanup of sites.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite applications.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally in a culturally competent manner.
• Occasional overnight travel.
• Must have a valid driver s license, 10-year driving record that complies with State and Agency Fleet guidelines, and the ability to drive a state vehicle.
• Experience with CERCLA Statute; environmental sampling methodologies; preparing environmental investigation reports; ePermitting; knowledge of the CERCLA and Brownfields Revitalization Acts; experience in preparing technical work scopes and providing oversight of technical work conducting environmental assessments; possession of SC GIT or PG registration.

Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

Experience and requirements

• Experience working with: CERCLA Statute; environmental sampling methodologies; preparing environmental investigation reports; ePermitting.
• Knowledge of the CERCLA and Brownfields Revitalization Acts.
• Experience in preparing technical work scopes and providing oversight of technical work conducting environmental assessments.
• Hold SC GIT or PG registration.
