The Field Service department seeks a highly motivated Technician to provide quality service and repair of complex MX‑Series airborne surveillance turrets. The field technician may also be required to deploy internationally to remote locations, including hazardous conflict regions. In addition to routine maintenance, the applicant will be expected to deliver customer‑focused training and support on Wescam MX sensor systems.
Essential Functions- Repair, test and maintain Wescam MX‑Series sensor systems in accordance with customer and company standards.
- Achieve proficiency in troubleshooting, repair and servicing of Wescam MX sensor systems within 90 days of hire through formal training and on‑the‑job experience.
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical and software issues in complex imager assemblies and restore mission‑critical functionality.
- Support U.S. Homeland Security, law‑enforcement and DoD customers by delivering on‑site service and maintaining operational continuity.
- Provide on‑site Wescam training to customers, covering MX operations and routine maintenance procedures.
- Maintain detailed service documentation and technical trip reports.
- Work independently and make technical decisions that affect system performance and availability.
- High School Diploma or equivalent; or 2‑year post‑secondary education with 3+ years of related experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an electro‑mechanical technician on complex imaging systems in a defense environment.
- 4+ years of experience with electronic and mechanical test equipment, including line‑replaceable unit level repair.
- Prior Field Service experience in CONUS and OCONUS environments; military experience is a plus.
- Availability for occasional off‑hour or weekend tasks and short‑term deployments to overseas sites.
- Physical ability to work outdoors in extreme temperatures (up to 120°F) and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance (or higher).
- Full medical clearance for overseas assignments.
- Active DoD Secret clearance or higher.
- Experience with Special Operations, AFSOC, or airborne law‑enforcement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and specialized test software.
- Strong written and verbal communication with technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Experience with systems integration, optical and electro‑mechanical components.
- Understanding of government contracting processes.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple projects, and manage time effectively.
- Considerable time standing, bending, twisting and kneeling while assembling and disassembling equipment.
- Use of hand tools, diagnostic instruments (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies) and precision measuring devices.
- Travel to overseas locations up to 20% of time; 12‑hour shifts and 7‑day deployments may be required.
- Work may occur at customer sites, flight lines, aviation hangars, test facilities or a manufacturing environment.
- Fast‑paced, schedule‑driven environment that requires maintaining product quality and safety.
Salary Range: $53,000 – $98,000. Final offer may vary based on experience and location. Benefits include health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company‑paid holidays.
