BIM Specialist Job Description

The BIM Specialist will play a critical role in supporting the design and construction of mechanical systems, including industrial piping, HVAC, and high-purity installations. This position ensures effective implementation of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes to deliver high-quality, coordinated, and constructible designs aligning with safety, quality, and integrity principles.

• Develop and manage BIM models for mechanical systems across industrial, commercial, and high-purity projects.
• Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and field teams to ensure accurate integration of piping, HVAC, and utility systems.
• Perform clash detection and resolve conflicts between disciplines using BIM software such as Revit.
• Generate construction documents and shop drawings directly from BIM models to support fabrication and installation.
• Maintain BIM standards and workflows consistent with the design-build approach.
• Support project delivery by providing 3D visualization and technical input during planning and construction phases.
• Train and mentor team members on BIM tools and best practices.

• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM software.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems including piping, HVAC, and high-purity installations.
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration with engineers, contractors, and clients.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2–5 years of BIM experience in mechanical contracting, HVAC, or industrial piping projects.
• Knowledge of fabrication software is a plus.

This position offers a flexible work environment with opportunities for both remote work and occasional on-site presence. The role requires proficiency in Windows 11, MS Office, AutoCAD 2024 or better, Navisworks 2024 or better, Revit 2024 using CADMEP fabrication parts, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and Nemetschek - Bluebeam. Optional experience with AutoCAD Fabrication CADMEP 2024 or better and Point Cloud Handling is advantageous.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Raleigh, NC.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hr.

This is a hybrid position in Raleigh,NC.
