Position Description

We are looking for a Designer to join our ICE team to improve infrastructure in our Orlando office. Candidates must have a high school diploma and a minimum of two years of drafting experience in the natural gas industry is preferred. Knowledge of personal computer hardware and software configurations and familiarity with AutoCAD 3D is required. A technical degree and knowledge of Micro Station and/or ESRI is a plus.

Excellent technical writing, organization and communication skills are essential. Candidates must be self‑motivated and able to work well with others. A flexible hybrid‑remote work schedule is available after 30 days of employment.

Typical responsibilities
  • Prepare computer drafted natural gas pipeline as‑built and mechanical detail drawings
  • Reproduce historic pipeline drawings in AutoCAD
  • Generate bill of materials
  • Ability to work independently
  • Print working drawings using a plotter
  • Create estimated time requirements for projects
  • Attend project‑specific meetings to determine CAD schedules
  • Save project‑specific data on a daily and weekly basis
  • Operate a scanner to duplicate project documents and scan field notes
  • Complete pipeline "as‑built" drawings from field notes, historic documents, survey data, etc.
  • Complete 811 design requests and coordinate responses to obtain 3rd party infrastructure
  • Verify and organize field visit survey notes
  • Assist Project Managers as needed
  • Attend meetings as needed
  • Maintain excellent client relations
  • Maintain a safe working environment
Education
  • High school diploma required
Skills/Experience
  • 2 or more years of related experience required
  • Knowledge of personal computer hardware and software configurations and familiarity with AutoCAD 3D is required.
