Job DescriptionMcCormick Taylor is actively seeking a dynamic Highway Engineer to join our growing South Carolina team. This position will report to our office in Columbia, SC, though has the possibility to “work from home” from anywhere in the State of South Carolina, understanding the need to travel to Columbia office periodically. The primary duties are to serve in a technical role under the direction of a Project Manager on the engineering development of various transportation projects.
Projects may include roadway improvements, intersection design, ADA design, bicycle facility design, site improvements, transit facilities, drainage projects, as well as field visits and inspections. Job duties include roadway/surface design utilizing SCDOT, AASHTO and other applicable design specifications as well as state and local design requirements. Job duties also include assisting project managers on design review and permitting, evaluating opportunities, and assisting in business development efforts.
This position will include assisting offices throughout the company allowing the candidate to gain exposure to clients outside of South Carolina.
