Overview
Gallagher Bassett Technical Services division (GBTS) is looking to hire a full-time environmental project manager to support the environmental operations practice area in our Poughkeepsie, NY regional office. The position will include project management, research, report preparation, training and fieldwork. While in person presence in the office during business hours is strongly preferred, we have flexibility to develop a hybrid or remote working arrangement.
You will work as part of an environmental consulting team and support the strategic direction, client interactions, and technical deliverables associated with projects.
Much of our work is for affordable housing developers and we are involved in assisting our clients in all phases of development projects through obtaining SEQR, CEQR and NEPA clearances required by funding agencies, through environmental site investigations, remediation during construction, as well as documenting this work and closing out projects with environmental regulators. The regulatory agencies we work with typically include NYSDEC, NYCDEP, OER, NYSHCR, NYSHFA.
As well as traditional environmental consulting involving soil, vapor and groundwater, our team includes specialist SSDS designers, acoustical consultants and planners. Starting at $100K/yr - depending on experience - Hours:
M-F 40 hours a week - First 6 months are in office located in Poughkeepsie NY
Responsibilities:
- Serve as Project Manager for Investigation and Remediation Projects, including all associated research, field investigations, sampling activities, report preparation, status update correspondences, client relations, proposal preparations, invoicing and collections.
- Prepare proposals on an as-needed basis.
- Oversee and perform field work including groundwater, surface water and soil sampling, use of field measurement instruments (OVA, peristaltic pumps, centrifugal pumps, stabilization meters, depth-to-groundwater) and training others to perform this work.
- Over time, research and develop specialized skills that complement existing services
Required:
- Required to pass a medical exam for use of a respirator.
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Project Management within Environmental Consulting industry.
- Must have valid driver's license.
- Entails negotiating non-public access areas, potentially extended periods of walking/standing, lifting/carrying 30lbs.
