This is an excellent opportunity to take a leadership role on a complex infrastructure scheme, supporting delivery from early contractor involvement through to construction.
Role & Responsibilities
As Site Agent, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, to programme, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Your responsibilities will include the planning, coordination, and supervision of all construction activities, managing engineering teams and subcontractors, and ensuring works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements. You will monitor progress against the programme, liaising with planners to identify and mitigate risks to delivery.
You will ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards, including Sisk Q10, method statements, ITPs, and quality plans. This will include managing temporary works in conjunction with the Temporary Works Coordinator and Designer, leading site briefings and safety inspections, and maintaining accurate site records and reporting.
The role will also involve regular coordination with clients, designers, subcontractors, suppliers, and statutory authorities, resolving technical issues, raising and closing RFIs, and supporting the commercial team with progress updates, variations, and subcontractor performance.
About You
You will have at least 5 years’ experience operating as a Site Agent or Senior Engineer on civil engineering or highways projects, with a strong background in major infrastructure works. You will be confident managing site teams and subcontractors, working independently, and taking full ownership of site delivery.
You will have excellent communication and leadership skills, a strong understanding of health, safety, quality, and programme management, and hold a Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
Qualifications & Training
* SMSTS and First Aid at Work
* CSCS (Manager level)
* Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) – essential or working towards
* Lifting Supervisor certification (desirable)
* Chartered or working towards ICE or Engineers Ireland (desirable)
* Flood or water sector experience (desirable)
