The team is distributed across the UK with support from an outsourced team in India.

We are recruiting a Project Manager to lead multidisciplinary teams from option‑engineering through delivery and handover to the client.

Responsibilities
  • Manage project proposals, determining requirements, scope, resources, programme, and cost estimates.
  • Own the P&L, including commercial and financial accountability: revenue delivery, margin, overhead management, budget and forecast attainment, risk and opportunity reviews, cost controls, accounts payable/billing, and cash collection.
  • Develop project‑management documentation: plans, cost estimates, forecasts, risk registers, schedules, stakeholder registers, organisation charts, etc., to deliver project objectives.
  • Monitor and control project schedule, man‑hours, budgets, forecasts, and expenditure.
  • Ensure effective contract management, including administration and change management.
  • Manage work performed by project team members, ensuring outputs meet requirements.
  • Control project deliverables, information, and records.
  • Communicate relevant project information to the team and customer accurately.
  • Anticipate and take pre‑emptive action to address issues and potential conflicts that may impact delivery.
  • Lead multi‑disciplinary project teams consisting of technical/professional staff and suppliers.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and capture lessons learned.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience delivering infrastructure projects; exposure to regulated water or non‑regulated water projects is advantageous.
  • Working knowledge or accreditation in NEC contracts with the necessary technical and practical skills.
  • Membership of a professional institution such as APM, PMI, or MICE (or equivalent).
  • Proficiency in project‑management tools and software.
  • Demonstrated competence in stakeholder management, risk, planning/scheduling, and commercial management.
Benefits
  • Hybrid working: flexible schedule; work from home up to two days a week.
  • Inclusivity and belonging initiatives, resource groups, and an employee‑focused culture.
  • Health & well‑being support, including Thrive programme, virtual GP service, reasonable adjustments, gym flex scheme, and menopause support package.
  • Work‑life balance options such as “WSP My Hour,” part‑time arrangements, and flexible leave.
  • Professional development through training, mentoring, and chartership opportunities.
