Position OverviewAs an Electrical Estimator, you will prepare, review and present discipline estimates for specific project proposal activities. In this role, you will provide estimating assistance and guidance to projects, develop conceptual estimates and perform cost analysis. You will be responsible for assisting in the development of discipline estimates, developing and updating historical databases, and assisting in the development of department procedures.
You will provide direction to others on estimate specific level tasks as required.

Location: Oakville office
Responsibilities- Prepare cost estimates on work for major projects locally and across Canada
- Develop comprehensive estimates for large and complex works
- Review the owner's plans and specifications to gain a comprehensive understanding of the project; develop a plan for actual construction as the basis for the estimate
- Review all tender and contract documents and advice from the home office legal department
- Coordinate with other disciplines such as planning, scheduling, procurement, and proposal team
- Determine installation quantities based on drawings and specifications
- Prepare and present your estimate to management and external clients
- Collaborate for the continuous improvement of the methods and processes for developing estimates for the entire team
- Maintain a professional and trustworthy relationship with clients, professionals, subcontractors and suppliers
- Bachelor’s degree or Technical Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent experience in electrical estimation with relevant industry experience
- 5+ years of relevant experience in electrical estimating for major projects
- Excellent knowledge of the Canadian construction market
- Excellent communication English skills, French is preferred
- Effective presentation and negotiation skills
- Advanced computer skills. Knowledge of MS Office, and Blue Beam software is an asset
- Experience in industrial, hydro, oil and gas and mining is an asset.
- Must be willing to travel as required to visit project sites or meet with clients for estimate specific needs
- Well organized, flexible, team player, detail oriented and multi-tasked.

- Work productively and meet deadlines timely
- Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment
- Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
- Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.
