The Regional Engineering Manager is responsible for the service provision of a range of integrated electronic security and fire safety systems on a large estate contract. The expectations of the role will be to manage an engineering workforce to gain the most productive operational output delivering an excellent quality of service to all end users of the Engineering Team. The role involves working alongside an existing team of engineering managers covering GB & NI areas reporting directly to the Head of Engineering.
This is a remote based position but will require close working relationships with our Operational support teams based out of Tewkesbury.
- Managing the completion of PPM’s in the time frames set down by both the company and NSI standards.
- Closely monitoring strict KPI fix times and minimising financial penalties.
- Effectively managing ‘failed to fix’ service calls, limiting downtime of customer equipment.
- Ensuring the profitability of the contract is managed effectively.
- Achieving accurate stock records of equipment held by engineers, carrying out 6 monthly checks and monitoring overstock/bad stock on a frequent basis.
- Ensuring engineers are working in a productive and efficient manner.
- Maintaining the highest standards of quality across service maintenance works and installations.
- Complying with Company and NSI guidelines at all times.
- Ensuring Health and Safety procedures are followed at all times in line with current requirements.
- Managing minor installations from contractual processing to system sign off.
- Rectifying project overspends for future learning.
- Liaising with Sales, System Design and Technical departments to ensure downtime of customer systems is kept to a minimum.
- Establishing a close working relationship with the customer service centre to provide excellent service delivery.
- Dealing with customers and contractors at a local/site level and attending to enquiries.
- Carrying out annual engineering performance reviews and managing through any development needs.
- Ensuring that the Company’s vehicle policies are observed and company policy is used responsibly.
- Authorising engineer’s timesheets & expenses submitted on time.
- Processing supplier’s and sub-contractor’s invoices.
- Responding to all communications within an appropriate time.
- Engineering qualification or experience in fire & security installation and service.
- Previous “hands on” experience of the installation and/or servicing of fire & security systems.
- Operational management of a service engineering team in the F&S systems industry.
- Highly computer literate with ‘Intermediate’ knowledge of applications such as MS Office.
- Wide ranging business awareness.
- Highly presentable.
- 5 years checkable work history.
- Unrestricted right to work in the UK/EU.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Knowledge of multiple access, CCTV, intruder and fire safety systems.
- ‘Basic’ knowledge of MS Project and AutoCAD.
