Robert G. Campbell and Associates (RGC&A), a partner of ICE, is recruiting a Land Development / Site Civil Project Engineer for Charleston, Beaufort, and Bluffton, SC.
Responsibilities- Produce designs for residential, commercial, and industrial sites in collaboration with the technical staff.
- Work closely with private and local government clients to meet site development needs.
- Maintain department CAD standards and file system.
- Coordinate with survey, inspection, and site staff to deliver turn‑key projects.
- Obtain approvals from regulatory agencies.
- Supervise construction administration duties such as meetings, site visits, RFIs, and review of shop drawings.
- Assist with quality control throughout the project.
- Recruit and mentor staff to grow the site development team.
- Broad experience in site design, including grading, drainage, detention, and erosion control.
- Proficiency with topographic surveys.
- Develop project budgets and cost estimates during preliminary and final design.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Stormwater design experience (pipe sizing, detention) and use of Hydro
CAD or similar. - Creation of project specifications and bidding documents.
- Ability to inspire high performance in a team.
- Communication with local, state, and federal agencies.
- Computer design experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Carlson (and other CAD platforms).
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. and completion of pre‑employment screening.
- Minimum of a BS in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or related discipline from an ABET‑accredited university or related technical certificate.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience and PE licensure (NC, SC, TN or eligible for reciprocity).
- Proficiency in Civil Engineering design principles.
- Experience with Hydro
CAD or similar storm‑water modeling software and comfortable with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Carlson, and/or Micro Station.
This position requires up to 8 hours per day in an office, occasional travel, client meetings, and standing/walking. Light lifting of up to 20 lb is required. The office is indoor with controlled temperature. Clear verbal and written communication skills, visual discernment of details, and the ability to sit for extended periods are necessary.
Expected Hours of WorkWorking hours are 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday–Friday with an unpaid hour for lunch daily. Work schedule may vary with project demands. The role is primarily onsite but offers a flexible work-from-home option as needed.
