CAD Drafter

Job Title

CAD Drafter – Leidos – Oakbrook Terrace, IL

• Complete protection & control, SCADA, and communications drawings including single line diagrams, schematics, SCADA, communication drawings, control building layouts and elevations, panel front views, cabinet layouts, wiring diagrams, interconnection drawings, AC/DC station service drawings and other drawings per project scope.
• Complete physical electrical drawings including general arrangement, electrical plans, elevations, sections, details, foundation plans, structural details, grounding plans, raceway plans, equipment vendor files, and other drawings per project scope.
• Support remote office overflow CAD workload as needed, coordinating with other CAD leads in Leidos offices.

• High school diploma or drafting certificate and 2+ years of general experience.
• Drafting and detailing experience with AutoCAD and/or Micro Station. Coursework and project work considered.
• Knowledge of drafting principles, techniques, and procedures.
• Proficiency with manipulation of vector and raster drawing files in AutoCAD and Micro Station.
• Ability to create and modify drawings from engineer‑provided markups with high attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Windows operating system environments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in a team environment.
• Highly organized and efficient.
• Ability to perform tasks in a fast‑paced engineering/production environment.
• Experience with 3‑D modeling in Autodesk Revit, Inventor, AutoCAD, Bentley Open Utilities, or Micro Station.

• Associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Experience working at a utility doing substation drafting.
• Experience with file sharing, document management, and collaboration tools such as Project Wise, FTP, SharePoint.
• Ability to understand and implement client CAD standards.
• Knowledge of VBA and/or Auto Lisp; program customization.

$48,100.00 – $86,950.00.
