Job Description Summary
The Material and Cost Control Planner is a key element of the New Unit Sourcing Global Projects department. At the Inquiry to Order (ITO) to Order to Remittance (OTR) transition, the planner is the first Sourcing/Procurement representative interfacing with the Engineering Configuration, Finance and Project scheduling teams. The role is responsible for settling the ERP (SAP Power Max) from planned demand and budget perspectives to ensure the good execution of the project, and for providing visibility to the project team on the evolution of sourcing functional costs compared to the original project budget (Estimate at Completion).
Roles and Responsibilities- Ensure correctness of the budget at MSD equipment level and collaborate with Finance and ITO Sourcing leaders during the ITO to OTR transition.
- Lead risks & opportunities reviews with Sourcing strategics to identify projected cost overruns or savings.
- Monitor and support Sourcing Strategics in meeting cost objectives.
- Partner with Finance and Sales to sync cost adjustments when necessary (Lesson Learned).
- Lead sustainable countermeasures with relevant stakeholders when cost adjustments are required.
- Perform financial analytics and regularly report EAC to Finance.
- Reallocate costs between budgets when necessary.
- Set and update budget revisions in cost control IT systems.
- Create EAC reports.
- Inquire project BOM, financial summary, and equipment planning to set the Work Breakdown Structure in the ERP, ensuring alignment with purchasing strategy.
- Create and configure purchasing requisitions, considering essential criteria and leveraging the ERP system.
- Run MRP activities in line with contractual requirements and Sourcing department priorities to support project execution.
- Investigate and manage changes originating from Engineering or Sourcing by updating purchasing requisitions.
- Define, maintain, and dispose of the procurement non‑technical documents database in PLM, sharing documents with suppliers via RFQ and PO folders.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience.
- 1+ years of experience in Supply Chain or a leadership program alumni program (e.g., GE OLMP).
- Very strong customer service and results‑oriented mindset.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Highly motivated, team worker, and detail oriented.
- Ability to make decisions and excellent time management.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $82,900.00 and $. The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
