Junior Transportation Technologist – Calgary

We are currently searching for a Junior Transportation Technologist in our Calgary office. The successful candidate will work with engineers and other technologists to develop and prepare drawings used in design services for a variety of public and private sector clients with a focus on highways, roads, bridges and transportation-related infrastructure. As the ideal candidate, you have strong design and drafting skills, are highly organized, an excellent communicator, and thrive in a dynamic work environment.

• Utilizing CAD software to create and prepare technical drawings for our bridge, roadway and aviation projects that best represent project requirements from concept to detailed design to record.
• Modifying and revising existing drawings based on feedback from engineers, project managers or other team members.
• Working closely with colleagues (and under the guidance of more advanced team members) to understand and ensure compliance of drafting standards.
• Preparing and exporting drawings and models in various formats for project submissions.
• Organizing and managing a variety of CAD files, ensuring that drawings and models are accessible to other team members.

• A Diploma in Civil Engineering or Engineering Design and Drafting from an accredited technical institution.
• Registered, or eligible for registration with ASET.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• 0–5 years of experience.
• Ability to complete work using pre-determined CAD standards and templates.
• Proficiency in MS Office software applications such as Word and Excel.
• Takes initiative to work with the project team to understand and manage project risks, deliverables and schedule.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
