Manufacturing Engineer
At Avride, we design and build cutting‑edge hardware for self‑driving cars and autonomous delivery robots. Our mission is to create reliable, intelligent systems that connect seamlessly with our autonomous platforms — ensuring safety, scalability, and innovation on every level.
About the RoleAs our Industrial Engineer, you will be the primary architect of our production efficiency. Your mission is to scale our in‑house autonomous vehicle assembly. You will bridge the gap between "perfect on paper" designs and "flawless in execution" reality.
What You'll DoFactory Scaling & Optimization: Design, implement, and continuously improve production layouts. You will utilize Lean manufacturing principles to minimize waste, reduce cycle times, and maximize the throughput of our Austin facility.
- Design for Manufacturing (DfM): Act as the critical link between the R&D and Production teams. You will review mechanical and electrical designs to ensure they are optimized for repeatable, cost‑effective assembly without sacrificing performance.
- Quality Assurance & Root Cause Analysis: Lead the charge in identifying and resolving assembly‑line quality issues. You will implement robust CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) to ensure every vehicle meets stringent safety and performance standards.
- Integrated Logistics & Warehouse Strategy: Coordinate with internal logistics and warehouse teams to optimize material flow. You will design "Kitting" processes and Just‑In‑Time (JIT) delivery systems to ensure the assembly line never stops.
- Technical Foundation: 2–3 years of hands‑on experience in Mechanical and Electrical design. You should be comfortable reading complex schematics and understanding the integration of sensors, compute units, and automotive hardware.
- Manufacturing Expertise: 1–3 years of experience in a production environment (Automotive, Robotics, or Aerospace preferred).
- Problem‑Solving Toolkit: Proven experience with time studies, bottleneck analysis, and process mapping.
- Education: B.S. in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Startup Mindset: You thrive in ambiguity. You are "scrappy," comfortable wearing multiple hats, and prefer building a process from scratch rather than just following a manual.
- Austin Local/Relocator: You are excited to be part of the Central Texas "Silicon Hills" manufacturing revolution.
- Data-Driven: You make decisions based on metrics and floor‑level observations, not assumptions.
If you're ready to work on the technology that powers tomorrow's mobility — we'd love to meet you.
Candidates are required to be authorized to work in the U.S. The employer is not offering relocation sponsorship, and remote work options are not available.
