Program / Project Manager
WHAT WE NEED:
Project Manager (Remote)
We are seeking a Project Manager to support one of our client sites. This is a 12‑month contract position and is fully remote.
The ideal candidate will have strong project planning and scheduling skills and be capable of managing a high volume of small, concurrent technical projects. In this role, the Project Manager will function as a Project Manager, Planner, and Scheduler, coordinating efforts across multiple stakeholders, ensuring proper prioritization, and supporting effective workforce utilization within the clients' operations research team.
Responsibilities:- Receive and document customer requests.
- Determine level of effort (LOE), resource needs, dependencies, and expected deliverables.
- Create and update a master schedule of active OR prioritized deliverables using MS Project or Primavera P6
- Break down work into detailed tasks within Azure Dev Ops or similar tools.
- Identify resource constraints and optimize allocations.
- Assess competing priorities across multiple LP support tasks.
- Model the impact of break-in work, shifting priorities, or urgent customer needs on overall timelines.
- Communicate impacts and options to stakeholders.
- Monitor progress and provide recurring status updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Track scope, schedule changes, and risks; elevate issues as needed.
- Maintain request tracking within tools like IPS (Integrated Project Management System) or equivalent.
- Support transition from Excel-based tracking to integrated project management systems.
- Help develop standard procedures, templates, dashboards, KPIs, and analytics to improve productivity and predictability.
- Work with team members to ensure consistent usage of tools and adherence to processes.
- Experience in project planning, scheduling, or project management in a technical or engineering environment.
- Proficiency with at least one of the following:
Primavera P6, MS Project, Azure Dev Ops, IPS, or similar project management systems. - Strong analytical and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple small projects concurrently.
- Excellent communication skills for interfacing with diverse internal customers.
- Experience supporting engineering, optimization, or operations technology teams.
- Familiarity with Linear Programming models or refinery planning (nice to have, not required).
- Experience designing or implementing resource-loading workflows or capacity-planning methodologies.
- Knowledge of Agile, waterfall, or hybrid project methodologies.
