, you’ll take the lead in delivering high-quality, on-the-ground engineering solutions for some of Michigan’s most ambitious transportation projects. If you love solving problems and thrive in a dynamic, outdoor environment, this role is for you.
- Oversee and inspect construction progress, ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, and safety standards.
- Maintain detailed project documentation using tools like Field Manager, Field Book, or AASHTOWare.
- Collaborate with contractors and stakeholders to address engineering challenges and keep projects on track.
- Manage quality assurance processes to ensure successful project delivery.
- Education: Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Construction Engineering.
- Experience: Non‑Senior: 2‑5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience: Senior: 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Certifications: MDOT certification required for all candidates.
- FE desirable for non‑senior engineers.
- FE required and PE preferred for senior engineers.
- Strong communication, problem‑solving skills, and ability to adapt to varied weather and schedules.
- Contribute to iconic projects like I‑75 freeway improvements, US‑23 expansion, and the I‑94 modernization.
- Work outdoors on a variety of job sites with opportunities to lead high‑impact construction activities.
