Sr Helicopter Maintenance Support Technician (Remote)

Join a mission-driven team as a Senior Remote Maintenance Support Technician (Govt Programs) performing advanced troubleshooting, inspections, and return-to-service certifications on BK117 C2/D3 and EC135 aircraft. Operate independently at various customer sites across the U.S.

$34.00 - $57.00/hour (based on experience) + per diem and housing allowance when away from home.

4x10 shifts (except CA, 5x8); 4 weeks on-site / 2 weeks off (work from home).

• FAA A&P License
• 8-12 years of rotary-wing experience
• Ability to obtain a DoD Common Access Card (CAC)

60% Maintenance / Troubleshooting / Aircraft Inspections

• Perform maintenance and inspections using airframe and power plant license outside a certified repair station
• Advanced troubleshooting to diagnose malfunctioning systems and determine corrective action to assure safety and airworthiness
• Conduct airframe calendar/hourly inspections, hidden damage inspections, operational and functional checks of structures, systems, and components
• Ensure physical security of aircraft and partner with fixed base operator if needed
• Participate in flight tests, perform track and balance of rotor systems, and vibration analysis
• Strictly observe FOD, tool control, and calibrated tool policies
• Accept field assignments on request
• Accomplish in-process and final inspections for maintenance, repair, modification, and rework of aircraft components and sub-assemblies, including clearance-to-close inspections, torque checks, dimensional checks, flight control installation verifications, and rigging checks
• Perform thorough receiving inspections to determine overall airworthiness

20% Lead Technician duties

• Conduct daily huddle meetings
• Assign maintenance tasks to technicians
• Identify and elevate work performance issues and safety concerns

10% on-site support

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues, including complex ones identified by Airbus customers
• Perform on-site customer support and tasks contracted by the customer

10% documentation and compliance duties

• Update maintenance tracking program daily and forecast upcoming maintenance
• Research, compile, and document all applicable maintenance for airframe, engine, accessories, and components per FAA regulations and company procedures
• Track and coordinate forecasted removals, repairs and material requirements for TBO and SLL assets
• Compose and prepare all necessary aircraft maintenance documentation to qualify airworthiness or return to service
• Perform aircraft mass and balance record calculations per AC 43.13-1B

65% Domestic and International travel.

• Minimum 8 years of aviation maintenance experience on BK117 C2/D3 or EC135, or 12 years of rotary-wing experience with at least 6 months on BK117 C2/D3 or EC135
• Current FAA A&P license
• Minimum 2 years of leadership experience or equivalent education
• Understanding of FAA 14 CFR Parts 27, 29, 39, 43, 91, 135, and 145 processes
• High-level troubleshooting expertise on BK117 C2 aircraft systems
• Effective communication in English (verbal and written)
• Ability to obtain a DoD CAC

• Vision, hearing, speaking, equipment operation, carrying, lifting, pushing/pulling, sitting, squatting/kneeling, standing, walking, and travel up to 60lbs (28kg)
• Climbing and use of maintenance stands, ladders, aircraft steps, and other equipment
• Required personal protective equipment per site and customer requirements
• Must meet US person ITAR definition (U.S. Citizen, green card holder, etc.)
