Manager, Test Engineering – NuScale Power
NOTE: This position is available for fully remote work within the contiguous United States.
POSITION SUMMARY: The manager, test engineering will report to the manager for product development and will be part of a dynamic high impact team focused on developing NuScale’s microreactor technology. The team reports to the CTO. NuScale’s microreactor technology is in the early stages of development and the target market for this product includes research reactor and commercial distributed power and heat applications at a thermal power scale smaller than NuScale’s commercial small modular reactor.
This role will be responsible for managing the test program in support of advancing NuScale’s microreactor technology to commercialization.
- Develops and manages product and component test and qualification plan
- Develops scope of work for testing contracts
- Manages R&D, component and systems testing contracts
- Organizes and manages test data
- Identifies parameters that affect quality and reliability
- Manages testing engineers assigned to specific testing contracts
- Supports supply chain when sourcing materials and components for testing
- Works with engineering staff to design and develop test components and test rigs
- Works with project manager to establish testing schedule towards near term product demonstration
- Works with system engineering to meet select product requirements
- Performs other duties as required.

- Education:
A B.S. in an Engineering or Physics related field from an accredited college or university is required. An advanced degree is preferred. - Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of full-time engineering experience in R&D, design, testing or operations, with at least 2 of those years in R&D testing or equipment reliability testing, is required. - Industry Requirements:
Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.
