The Technical Design Engineer works on multiple projects alongside Project Managers to ensure deadlines are met, clients are satisfied, and project profit remains on track. On a day‑to‑day basis, you will produce excellent technical CAD drawings in Solidworks, manage client expectations, issues and installations, quality‑control work from external suppliers, and submit proposals.

This role requires a hands‑on approach to the end‑to‑end of a project and offers progress into a Technical Project Management role.

• Direct experience in retail design & CAD engineering (SOLIDWORKS®) – minimum 3 years
• Experience managing your own projects
• Deep understanding of materials and manufacturing processes within retail
• Adobe Suite for artwork – bonus but not essential
• Resourceful with a strong initiative to get the job done
• Proactive problem‑sighter, preventing issues before they arise
• Passion for the quality of your work and process
• Adaptability to fast‑paced retail environments
• Value engineering focused on sustainability, function and life‑cycle value
• Direct client and manufacturing liaison experience

• CAD Engineering (Solidworks) focused on value, function, creativity, sustainability, and innovation
• Client costing using proven methods Congressional and supplier databases
• High‑standard technical drawing and development
• Supply visits and quality control
• Project Management to maximise efficiency and client service
• Work quickly while maintaining a logical, thorough approach
• Attend client meetings and briefs to translate requirements into CAD design

Successful performance leads to involvement with Project Management, potentially advancing to Technical PM, Technical Design Manager, Technical Design Lead, or Head of Engineering. The company provides extensive training, hands‑on learning, and autonomy to thrive.
