Job Overview

About the RoleEnvironmental Compliance Specialist responsible for providing multi‑media environmental support, assessing facility operations, and maintaining adherence to federal, state, and local environmental regulations, permits, and plans under contracts such as CERCLA, RCRA, TSCA, NEPA, EPA, USACE, etc.
Responsibilities- Prepare lice plans, permit applications, and reports for various compliance areas (Clean Water Act, NPDES/Stormwater, SPCC/Oil Pollution Act, storage tank programs, RCRA, EPCRA, solid waste, air quality, wastewater). Yii
- Provide multi‑media support and assessment of facility operations to ensure regulatory compliance, including on‑site assistance as required.
- Identify compliance issues and recommend corrective actions in technical reports and oral communications.
- Deliver client training on environmental compliance topics, in‑person or online, as directed by the project manager.

- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in multi‑media environmental compliance consulting.
- Working knowledge of environmental regulations and standards (Clean Water Act, 40 CFR 112 – SPCC, NPDES, EPCRA, etc.).
- Strong understanding of RCRA hazardous waste regulations, including definitions, listing/characteristics, and EPA waste determination.
- Ability to perform waste profiling using analytical data and SDS review.
- Experience with environmental management systems and ISO 14001 standards is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
- Organizational and multitasking capabilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple assignments and locations.
- Professional demeanor with a solution‑seeking attitude and personal responsibility.
- Valid driver's license with a clear record.
- Must obtain clearance to access military bases and federal installations.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Sciences or an Engineering discipline.
- Travel to sites, client meetings, and conferences 25–40 % annually.
- Work in outdoor environments with uneven terrain, variable weather, heat, cold, dust, noise, chemicals, moisture, dryness, and vibration.
- Field‑work activities including long walks, ladder climbing, equipment carrying, bending, kneeling, stooping, and reaching.
- Possible repetitive bending and stooping, weight lifting up to 75 lb, and use of hand tools and power equipment.
- Able to work in a hybrid remote arrangement with prolonged periods of sitting and computer use.
