Bechtel is partnering with Next Decade to support their vision to provide the world access to lower carbon intensive energy with their Rio Grande LNG (RGLNG) project in Brownsville, Texas. RGLNG is a natural gas liquefaction and export terminal situated on a 984-acre site on the banks of the Brownsville ship channel. The first phase of the RGLNG project consists of three liquefaction trains, two storage tanks and one marine berth.
At full capacity, the five‑train facility will have a production capacity of 27 million tonnes per annum (MTPA). Brownsville, Texas is a city known for its diverse history, tradition, and rich culture. Located in the southernmost region in the beautiful state of Texas, Brownsville is a rich, tropical oasis bordering the Rio Grande River and near the shores of the Gulf of Mexico.

In this role, you will perform routine cost estimating, analysis, and control activities and support the implementation of cost monitoring and control standards, preparation of cost data, and the project trend program. You will assist with budget allocation and developing quantity takeoffs, project codes, and application unit rates. Your work will help ensure projects stay on budget and excel.
Major Responsibilities- Performs routine cost estimating, analysis, and control activities, as directed
- Supports the implementation of cost monitoring and control standards, techniques, systems, and reports
- Assists with budget allocation and reporting/cost control for specific construction discipline or group of disciplines
- Supports the preparation of cost data for proposals or contracts
- Assists in the development of quantity takeoffs for a specific discipline or specialty
- Assists in developing specific project codes of accounts and recommends appropriate modifications and revisions
- Supports the project trend program
- Assists in the development and application of unit rates (cost and job hours) to quantity takeoffs
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience
- Experience in performing, monitoring, and reviewing cost engineering functions, which include cost estimating, cost control, and cost analysis, in the field and the home office.
- Proficiency with PC operating systems, with proficiency in several software applications (Ecosys, Power
BI and Microsoft Office Applications, for example). - Statistical knowledge in the areas of sampling, distributions, probability, and hypothesis testing for metrics.
- Knowledge of supervision, personnel administration, and training of technical and nontechnical personnel.
- Skilled in oral and written communication.
- Knowledge of financial reporting systems and controller account codes, and an understanding of Controller instructions.
