Oil & Gas Mobile Machinery & Mechanical Systems Design
Help engineer the next generation of Oil & Gas mobile equipment. Our client is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design, optimize, and validate mobile mechanical systems used across drilling, completions, well intervention, hydraulic power units, mobile lifting systems, and other field‑deployed oil and gas (O&G) machinery. This role is remote within the Houston metropolitan area, with up to 55% travel to customer and client sites.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Design and develop mobile mechanical systems for Oil & Gas applications (e.g., hydraulic equipment, mobile lifting systems, field‑service machinery).
- Optimize performance and reliability for high‑pressure, high‑load, and high‑cycle environments.
- Create detailed CAD models & drawings using Inventor (preferred), AutoCAD, or Solid Works.
- Prototype, test, and validate equipment to meet API, ASME, and internal quality standards.
- Troubleshoot and improve existing O&G machinery to reduce downtime and improve field performance.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including engineering, project management, and customer stakeholders.
- Stay current with emerging O&G technologies, materials, and design practices.
- Solve complex engineering challenges with creativity and speed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or related field.
- 5+ years of experience designing mechanical systems or mobile equipment for Oil & Gas operations.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience with hydraulic systems, pressure‑containing equipment, rotating machinery, or mobile field equipment.
- Proficiency with Solid Works., ProE/CREO, or Autodesk Inventor
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and design‑for‑production principles.
- Remote within the Houston, TX metro area.
- Travel up to 55% to customer and client sites.
