Environmental Project Manager
The Environmental Project Manager will assess and monitor flood hazard areas to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and mitigation requirements. This role involves reviewing and approving soil erosion and sediment control plans, issuing certificates as required by governing authorities, and conducting site inspections to verify compliance with approved plans and environmental standards. The successful candidate will prepare and maintain accurate documentation and reports related to environmental compliance activities, collaborate with contractors, engineers, and regulatory agencies to resolve compliance issues, and provide guidance on best practices.
Staying current on relevant environmental laws, regulations, and industry standards is essential.
- Assess and monitor flood hazard areas for regulatory compliance.
- Review and approve soil erosion and sediment control plans.
- Issue certificates as mandated by governing authorities.
- Conduct site inspections to verify adherence to environmental standards.
- Prepare and maintain accurate documentation and reports.
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and regulatory agencies to resolve compliance issues.
- Provide guidance on best practices in environmental compliance.
- Stay updated on relevant environmental laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- 7-10 years of environmental experience, including Phase 1’s, Phase 2’s, report writing, and permitting for bridge projects.
- Project management skills.
- Environmental science knowledge.
- Bridge engineering experience.
- NJDEP land use permit experience, including freshwater wetlands.
- Flood hazard area expertise.
- Soil erosion and sediment control certification experience.
- Environmental engineering proficiency.
- Environmental compliance knowledge.
- Permitting expertise.
- HAZWOPER certification.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
The position is primarily based in an office setting from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with hybrid flexibility allowing 1-2 days of remote work per week. The company has been established for 20 years, offers competitive benefits, a salary raise of 4-5 percent per year, and a yearly bonus structure.
